The teacher is
the artist in residence originating from where the culture
originates (Indonesia), and who is expert in gamelan and other
pieces.
The dancers are is also artists in
residence originating from where the culture originates (Indonesia). Dancers
have learned their craft since they were young and have then enhanced there
craft through education.
This organization contributes
and gives the funding for “rare” expert artists. In the case of need for a
special artist, this organization will try to work with other organization to
bring the artist here under certain VISA status.
This organization has members
who play music, song and dance. Their involvement is on a volunteer basis, in
exchange that this organization doesn't collect money or charge to take any
courses, as long as they are willing to play with the group in which the
organization can get paid from the client to perform.
The client can be individual and/or group and/or organization.
Currently, Arcinda produces
the performance of Javanese Gamelan orchestra.
When performed, it will be
under the name of this orchestra:
"Kyai Brojo Marto" Javanese
Gamelan orchestra.
Javanese Gamelan is
traditional music originated from Java, Indonesia, which is considered as having
a historical value that needs to be preserved.
Other group can perform under Arcinda.
Currently, the operation and
production of this organization is mostly from members and contributions from
clients. Contribution to this organization from the client, can be in the form
of fees to perform music, songs, and dance or other cultural programs.
The time, place and duration
of performances/activities depends on the clients who would like the group to
perform and conduct cultural activities.
Performances can be done locally in
Colorado or other states.
Donate a fund
to buy new instruments to make the sound more complete.
For example, the gamelan
instruments of this organization are borrowed from the artists,
since we have limited number
of instruments. Adding new instrument piece will enhance the quality of the
performance.
With all of those activities,
it requires funding, contribution and support from members, public, private as well as government
to preserve the uniqueness and historical values of the culture as part of the
cultural heritage. The funds, the fees of the clients and members contribution,
solely aren't enough to maintain and keep up with the operation and production
of this organization.
The instruments and special
artists who are experts in this culture are very rare here. We need enough funds
for them to be maintained and for others to conduct further research.
